چکیده

Aims In the sagebrush ecosystems of western United States, identifying and enhancing habitat for large ungulates has become an increased priority many management agencies, as indicated by Department Interior Secretarial Order 3362. Estimating understanding current future suitability connectivity is important successful long-term these species. Location Great Basin ecoregion, USA. Methods We focussed on pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) in ecoregion used a variety data sources (GPS telemetry, aerial surveys, observation locations) to develop multi-scale ensemble models two time steps (years 2050 2070). also developed dynamic resistant kernels model connectivity. combined outputs derive quantify changes networks through well identify areas that are resilient climate land use change. Results observed 33.4% decline highly suitable 2070, assuming high carbon emission scenario. Patches reduced number size, whilst distance amongst patches increased, indicating elevated importance future. Future decreased greater degree than (47.2%–80.0%, depending movement threshold used). found (70%) be more change (10%–15%). Main conclusions Our results show loss high-quality with projected Connectivity was sensitive habitat, may limiting factor populations Basin. These can help managers prioritize resource investments conservation efforts most likely towards conservation.

Comparing Habitat Suitability and Connectivity Modeling Methods for Conserving Pronghorn Migrations

Terrestrial long-distance migrations are declining globally: in North America, nearly 75% have been lost. Yet there has been limited research comparing habitat suitability and connectivity models to identify migration corridors across increasingly fragmented landscapes. Here we use pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) migrations in prairie habitat to compare two types of models that identify habit...

Microbial habitat connectivity across spatial scales and hydrothermal temperature gradients at Guaymas Basin

The Guaymas Basin (Gulf of California) hydrothermal vent area is known as a dynamic and hydrothermally vented sedimentary system, where the advection and production of a variety of different metabolic substrates support a high microbial diversity and activity in the seafloor. The main objective of our study was to explore the role of temperature and other environmental factors on community dive...

the search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...
